What Limitless does

Limitless grew out of Rewind and sold a $99 wearable Pendant designed to record spoken life throughout the day. The device could hold about 35 hours of speech, sync through iOS or Android, transcribe in 103 languages, split a day into lifelog sections, generate summaries, answer questions, and support search and export.

That product reached an endpoint on December 5, 2025. Meta acquired Limitless and stopped all new Pendant sales. Existing Pendant customers receive the Unlimited plan free and are promised service through the end of 2026. The desktop and web apps can no longer record new meetings, though past meetings remain accessible during the support period. Rewind's screen and audio capture was disabled on December 19, 2025.

Service also ended in Brazil, China, the European Union, Israel, South Korea, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Accounts and stored data in those regions were scheduled for deletion after an export window. This is now a migration question, not a normal feature comparison.

What Work Coach does

Work Coach is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that records microphone and system audio locally. Nothing joins the call, and recording starts only after you choose it. The meeting can be in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack, or any other app that plays audio through the computer.

You get a timestamped transcript, an editable summary, and action items. The main product begins after those basics:

• Role-aware feedback. Work Coach identifies the meeting type and your role, then applies the right standard. An interview answer is judged differently from a manager's 1:1 or a seller's discovery call.
• Evidence you can replay. Coaching points link to the exact moment in the conversation instead of relying on generic advice.
• Filler-word feedback. It counts your fillers per minute and lets you listen to every instance in sequence.
• Voice delivery analysis. High-stakes clips are reviewed for pace, pitch, pauses, projection, and tone.
• Practice from real meetings. Voice roleplays let you retry difficult conversations and track whether the next attempt improves.

There is no employer dashboard, team workspace, or admin account. The person being coached owns the account and keeps the history when they change jobs.

How recording works

Existing Pendant owners can still wear the device, keep its outward-facing light on, and sync recordings through the mobile app. The device stores only speech and can hold roughly 35 hours before syncing. It cannot capture audio routed through AirPods or other headphones, so phone calls must be on speaker.

Limitless desktop and web recording are over. Work Coach is designed for the opposite recording habit: choose the professional meeting, press start, and let local system audio provide a clean split between your microphone and everyone else. It does not attempt an all-day lifelog.

What happens after the meeting

Limitless organizes a day's conversations into summaries and transcripts, supports Ask AI over Pendant lifelogs, and lets owners search, edit speakers, play audio, share sections, download audio, and export text. The API covers Pendant recordings. These capabilities remain useful to existing owners, but the support deadline should change how much trust you place in the archive.

Work Coach builds an ongoing coaching history rather than a memory archive. It looks for patterns in your own meetings and turns them into evidence and practice. It is a current product with no announced sunset, but it cannot replace wearable capture.

Privacy and who owns the output

Limitless encrypts device audio and transfers, offers export and deletion, and lets users choose audio retention. The acquisition changed the company context and the policy. The privacy policy effective December 5, 2025 states that collected information may be used to train, develop, and improve AI, machine-learning, and language models, and may be shared within the corporate group. Existing owners should export now rather than treating the end of 2026 as a reminder date. A full account export and a verified local backup reduce the risk of a rushed migration later.

Work Coach keeps the product boundary simple. Meeting audio remains on your computer and is deleted automatically after 30 days. No audio file is stored in the cloud. Transcripts and coaching live in your private account, are never visible to your employer, and are never used to train shared models. There is no company administrator who can turn that promise into a workspace setting later.

Pricing

There is no current purchase price because the Pendant is no longer sold. Existing customers receive Limitless Unlimited at no charge through the support period. Old pricing pages that describe 1,200 free minutes or paid Pro and Unlimited plans are historical and should not guide a new purchase. The definitive status is on Limitless's acquisition notice.

Work Coach costs $50 a month after a two-week free trial with no credit card. Plans at $250 and $500 add human review or a live monthly coaching session. That is expensive beside a basic notetaker and inexpensive beside a traditional executive coach, which commonly costs around $5,000 a month. The purchase only makes sense if feedback and practice are the reason you record.

Can you use both together?

An existing owner can use Pendant for in-person memory and Work Coach for scheduled desktop coaching during 2026. Exporting a selected Limitless transcript into Work Coach can bridge the two. New buyers should compare Work Coach with software recorders and Plaud with wearable recorders instead.
