What Supernormal does

Supernormal started as a popular AI meeting notetaker. In 2026 it repositioned around AI agents for agencies. Meetings provide the context, and agents turn that context into follow-up emails, creative briefs, documents, slides, insights, and other client deliverables.

The capture system changed with the strategy. Norma, the visible bot, and the Chrome extension were retired on April 2, 2026. Meeting capture now happens only through a desktop app on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14.4.1 or later and Windows 11. The app can auto-detect conversations in most desktop platforms, including Slack, Discord, and WhatsApp, without joining the call.

Audio and video recording were also retired. Supernormal keeps the transcript, structured notes, action items, decisions, and agent context, but does not provide recording playback in the new experience.

What Work Coach does

Work Coach is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that records microphone and system audio locally. Nothing joins the call, and recording starts only after you choose it. The meeting can be in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack, or any other app that plays audio through the computer.

You get a timestamped transcript, an editable summary, and action items. The main product begins after those basics:

• Role-aware feedback. Work Coach identifies the meeting type and your role, then applies the right standard. An interview answer is judged differently from a manager's 1:1 or a seller's discovery call.
• Evidence you can replay. Coaching points link to the exact moment in the conversation instead of relying on generic advice.
• Filler-word feedback. It counts your fillers per minute and lets you listen to every instance in sequence.
• Voice delivery analysis. High-stakes clips are reviewed for pace, pitch, pauses, projection, and tone.
• Practice from real meetings. Voice roleplays let you retry difficult conversations and track whether the next attempt improves.

There is no employer dashboard, team workspace, or admin account. The person being coached owns the account and keeps the history when they change jobs.

How recording works

Supernormal's desktop app requests microphone and system-audio access, watches for meetings, and can start automatically after a 15-second notification. It works across far more than the three big video platforms. A manual New Capture handles impromptu and in-person conversations near the computer.

Unlike Work Coach, Supernormal no longer preserves audio or video. That reduces storage and makes notes fast, but prevents replay and voice analysis. Work Coach starts only when you choose it and keeps local audio temporarily so coaching can point to something you can hear.

What happens after the meeting

Supernormal's current strength is what it can create. A kickoff can become a brief, a brainstorm can become a pitch deck, and meeting context can feed agent tasks with connected email and documents. The credit cost varies with the complexity of the task rather than a fixed number of meetings.

Work Coach does not create client slides or project deliverables. It reviews the meeting as evidence about your behavior. For an agency owner, the products can sit side by side: Supernormal completes the client work while Work Coach improves the way the owner leads the next conversation.

Privacy and who owns the output

Supernormal is SOC 2 audited, GDPR compliant, HIPAA capable with a BAA, and encrypts data in transit and at rest. Notes are private until shared. The important plan distinction is training: paid Team and Business data is excluded from AI model training, while the Free terms permit de-identified customer material to be used or shared for model training. Organization controls, member visibility, audit logs, retention settings, and SSO arrive on Business. These are appropriate for a client-work system and different from an account intentionally designed to have no company administrator.

Work Coach keeps the product boundary simple. Meeting audio remains on your computer and is deleted automatically after 30 days. No audio file is stored in the cloud. Transcripts and coaching live in your private account, are never visible to your employer, and are never used to train shared models. There is no company administrator who can turn that promise into a workspace setting later.

Pricing

Supernormal changed to usage credits in 2026. Free provides 15 credits per month with a daily cap of 5. Team costs $20 per month for 50 shared credits, unlimited seats, rollover, and removal of Supernormal branding. Business costs $40 per month for the same 50 base credits plus SSO, audit logs, retention, and admin controls. Extra credits can be purchased, and exact consumption depends on task complexity. Work Coach costs $50 a month after a two-week free trial with no credit card. Plans at $250 and $500 add human review or a live monthly coaching session. That is expensive beside a basic notetaker and inexpensive beside a traditional executive coach, which commonly costs around $5,000 a month. The purchase only makes sense if feedback and practice are the reason you record.

Can you use both together?

Yes. Both capture locally without a bot, so test simultaneous microphone and system-audio access before relying on the setup. Another option is to let Supernormal create the transcript and import that text into Work Coach, though the imported path cannot recreate missing voice playback.
